About the Project
Access Infrastructure
- New 3×3 lane access road under construction
- Connects island directly to E11, enabling smooth access to Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah
Bridge Network & Configuration
- Bridges connect multiple sections of the island
- 3×3 dual carriageways (both directions) on:
- HB1, HB2, LB1, LB5, LB6, LB8
- 2-lane single-direction carriageways on:
- LB2, LB3, LB4, LB7, LB9–LB15
- Dedicated corridors for utilities & landscaping provided on all bridges
Structural & Construction Highlights
- High-level bridge piers: Located outside water channels
- Low-level bridge piers: Mostly within water
- Substructure to be constructed in temporarily dry conditions for marine safety and efficiency
